Matty Cash plays for Poland because his mother is the daughter of Polish emigrants. His Polish citizenship was confirmed on 26 October 2021.

Short answer

His grandfather Ryszard Tomaszewski was a Sybirak, a Polish survivor of Soviet captivity in WWII, and his grandmother Janina was born in Brańsk. Both emigrated to Britain, where Matty's mother was born. According to the Polish FA, Cash approached them himself several years before his debut.
